Composite Bonding
Fine-tune your smile to perfection with composite bonding in Rouse Hill.
Sometimes, small changes are all it takes to have a very big impact on your overall smile!
Composite bonding (or dental bonding) is one of the simplest and most cost effective cosmetic dental procedures that can make an enormous impact on the appearance of your smile and can significantly improve your smile confidence. It involves applying a layer of tooth-coloured composite resin material to part of the tooth surface. Rather than a crown or veneer that covers entire surfaces of the tooth, composite bonding is perfect for the edges and sides of the teeth to fix small chips or cracks, fix stains or decayed teeth, close spaces or gaps between teeth and lengthen short or worn down teeth.
The best thing about composite bonding is that it can all be completed in a single visit! It’s a virtually painless procedure that does not require the removal of any tooth structure. And with the high quality resin materials that we use at The Grove Dental, we can create a restoration that is not only durable, but one that is highly aesthetic and natural looking.
Types of Composite Restorations
Composite bonding (also called dental bonding or edge bonding) uses a tooth-coloured resin material that is ‘bonded’ or adhered to part of the existing tooth. The resin can be matched to the shade of your natural teeth and moulded to suit the desired look and shape.
Composite bonding offers a quick and effective way to fix a whole range of dental imperfections, such as smoothing over chipped or fractured teeth, correcting discolouration or staining, filling in small gaps, and restoring misshapen or uneven teeth.
Composite veneers and composite bonding are essentially the same procedure. Composite bonding is the name given to the procedure when the composite is only applied to “part” of the surface of the tooth, for example, in the case of a chipped front tooth. Composite veneers on the other hand involve applying the composite to the entire front surface of the tooth to have an even greater impact on the size, shape and colour of the teeth, and overall smile.

BENEFITS OF COMPOSITE BONDING
So, how do I get started?
CONSULTATION
During your initial consultation, we will take the time to listen to your concerns and will undertake a comprehensive evaluation of your smile. We’ll discuss treatment options and suitability for composite bonding. It’s important to note that since composite resin is hand crafted directly on the tooth, it relies heavily on the skill and artistic ability of the dentist. Although dentists work with composite resin every day, not all dentists perform composite bonding or veneers regularly. It is an art, and results can vary tremendously between practitioners. We’ll show you before and afters of our work before you commit to treatment so that you know what to expect.
TREATMENT
Composite veneers can be designed & hand-layered in a single visit. The composite is applied to the surface of the tooth and is handcrafted by the dentist till we achieve the desired shape. It is then contoured and polished, and the bite is adjusted to ensure they are comfortable and look good! The treatment is fast, painless and rarely ever requires any anaesthetic. You’ll leave with your amazing, brand new smile!
SMILE CONFIDENTLY AGAIN!
Enjoy the confidence of a brand new smile! We’ll review your smile two weeks after placement to ensure everything looks good. Long term oral hygiene maintanence (dental cleans every six months!) is necessary to ensure your teeth and gums stay looking their best. Care must be taken with composite restorations as they are slightly more prone to chipping or staining compared to Porcelain Veneers.
