AIRFLOW® Dental Spa Experience
We provide the ultimate dental spa experience for your teeth.
We’re excited to bring the latest dental hygiene technology to The Grove Dental Rouse Hill with the EMS AIRFLOW® and Guided Biofilm Therapy treatment. We are one of the few clinics in northwest Sydney to offer this next generation dental spa experience.
AIRFLOW® is a revolutionary, non-contact form of dental maintenance and prevention. It projects a controlled stream of air, warm water and very fine sweet powder onto the tooth and in hard-to-reach areas to dislodge and remove food particles, plaque, discolouration and stains. The high pressure water/air stream cleans your teeth much faster, efficiently and comfortably than traditional methods. No more scraping or high frequency noises!
AIRFLOW® is akin to being at a day spa but instead of beauticians working on your face, your dentist is gently exfoliating your teeth. It’s the superior choice for:
What is Guided Biofilm Therapy and AIRFLOW® technology?
It is estimated that 1mm of dental plaque contains more than 200 million bacteria. If left untreated, the bacteria can spread and develop biofilm. Biofilm is a colony of bacteria that can cause gum disease and compromise your body’s immune defences.
With Guided Biofilm Therapy, we’ll first place a coloured dye onto your teeth to reveal any plaque and biofilm present in your mouth. This will guide the efficient removal of biofilm using the AIRFLOW® Prophylaxis Master device. This technology replaces the traditional prophylaxis procedure which typically involves the use of a polishing cup and paste to remove soft plaque and light stains from the teeth. Traditional methods can often be quite messy, time consuming and leaves you with the feeling that you have sand in your mouth following your dental clean.
If you have hard calculus, we may still need to use an ultrasonic (vibrating tool) on your teeth. However, the use of AIRFLOW® prior minimises the amount of time in which an ultrasonic is needed and the ultrasonic may not be required for every tooth.
