Same Day CEREC Crowns

cerec same day crown rouse hill

Enjoy a restored smile in just one visit with Same-Day CEREC Crowns in Rouse Hill.

A damaged or broken down tooth can become a breeding ground for bacteria that leads to infection and can cause serious dental problems. By strengthening and supporting the compromised tooth with a porcelain crown, you’ll restore that tooth to its original shape and function.

Traditionally, dental crowns and other restorations could take several weeks and multiple visits.

At The Grove Dental, we offer same-day CEREC crown dental treatment. You can come in for your dental appointment and walk out with a brand-new, beautifully crafted crown. No more waiting weeks for a dental lab to create your crown. We use the latest technology and equipment to create stunning, customised crowns that match your natural teeth – saving you time and ensuring a convenient experience.

WHAT IS CEREC SAME-DAY DENTISTRY?

Same-day ceramic restorations utilises revolutionary CEREC technology to create and place custom dental restorations in just one appointment. CEREC stands for ‘Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics’.

Traditionally, getting a dental crown meant taking an impression of your tooth and sending it to a lab to make the crown. The lab could take two weeks or more, during which time you would have a temporary crown. With CEREC same-day restorations, a crown can be digitally designed, fabricated and placed on the same day – the whole process only takes a few hours, letting you walk out of the dental clinic with your new long-lasting crown.

CEREC Same-Day crowns are an ideal solution for busy individuals seeking efficient dental treatment.

BENEFITS OF CEREC SAME DAY CROWNS

  • Faster turnaround – With CEREC, you don’t have to wait for crowns to be made by an external lab, meaning much faster turnaround and in some cases, treatment that is possible in a single day.

  • No messy moulds – 3D imaging meands that you don’t have to bite into messy, uncomfortable moulds to get a good map of your teeth. The process is entirely digital and much more comfortable.

  • Less room for human error – With Computer Aided-Design (CAD) technology, there’s less room for human error in the design and milling of your crown. The traditional process for creating restorations is excellent, but can take longer if there was an issue with mould-taking.

So, what’s the process for a CEREC crown?

EXAMINATION & PREPARATION

Your dentist will thoroughly examine the condition of your teeth and suitability for CEREC treatment. The restoration process starts by removing any decay or weakened tooth structure, before shaping the tooth to fit a new crown.

3D DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS & DESIGN

Using state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology, we capture precise digital impressions of your teeth eliminating the need for uncomfortable traditional moulds. These will then be used to meticulously design your new crown to match the shape, size and colour of your natural teeth.

MILLING

The custom-designed crown is then fabricated out of a block of ceramic using ultra-precise diamond burs in our CEREC milling maching. This process ensures an exellent fit and exceptional quality.

PLACEMENT OF YOUR NEW CROWN

Once the crown has been milled and polished, it is carefully placed over and bonded to your prepared tooth. Final adjustments are made to ensure comfort and optimal functionality.

Let’s answer some frequently asked questions about same-day CEREC crowns…

How much do same-day CEREC crowns cost?2024-11-05T13:25:34+10:00

Same-day CEREC crowns typically cost the same as traditional crowns. Speak to your dentist about an estimate for Same-Day CEREC crowns for your specific smile goals.

Is CEREC covered by health insurance?2024-11-05T13:32:55+10:00

A crown, whether it is made using advanced CEREC technology or traditional methods will be invoiced using the same item number and will typically attract the same rebate from your health insurance. We can run a quote for you through our HICAPS terminal. Be sure to read your health insurance policy for more information.

Are CEREC crowns as good as traditional lab-made crowns?2024-11-05T14:32:07+10:00

Whether your crown is made using our CEREC milling machine, or in an external lab’s milling machine does not impact the quality or durability of your crown. We use the same ceramic blocks that an external lab uses and similar software to meticulously plan and design your crown. By milling your crown onsite, we can place it on your tooth sooner which has many significant advantages (e.g. no need for a temporary crown, less risk of damage to the prepared tooth while you wait for the final crown to be placed).

Are all crowns suitable for CEREC same-day treatment?2024-11-05T14:37:16+10:00

In certain circumstances, a CEREC crown is not suitable and one made in collaboration with our dental lab and master ceramist may be required. This can be the case if the crown is extremely difficult to match with an adjacent tooth like the top front tooth. In these situations, ceramic material is usually hand layered using a multi-step process that takes time to allow for a perfect match. For more complicated treatments, such as when an entire smile is being redesigned or the bite is being recreated, we will work closely with our master ceramist to ensure the best outcome.

How long do CEREC crowns last?2024-11-05T14:49:48+10:00

A CEREC crown should last anywhere between 12 to 15 years, which is the same amount of time a traditional lab-made dental crown is expected to last. In reality, dental crowns can often last much longer if you return to the dentist every six months for regular maintenance and care. To prolong the life of your crown we recommend you maintain good oral hygiene routines at home, consume a low sugar diet and attend for regular comprehensive checkup & cleans at least every six months.
